Portraits of people who claim to be abducted by aliens are placed next to their hand-drawn images which are supposed to depict the details of the abduction. It’s easy to dismiss people who claim to have been abducted by aliens as nutters, and let’s face it, they invariably are. There’s something about the geographical consistency, Twilight Zone cliches and mad, staring eyes that makes it hard to take them seriously. But New York photographer Steven Hirsch has put away his cynicism, and has given a voice to these victims of intergalactic sequester. Along with this, he’s also given them some crayons and a slightly demeaning photographic portrait of themselves to help people believe their ridiculous stories. Take a look. Enjoy.

Extracto de Rana – A Drink in Peru

Forget coffee! If you need a real eye-opener in the morning, all you have to do is head to Peru and drink a drink that not only wakes you up, but also serves as a potent aphrodisiac due to its second most notable ingredient, a plant root called the Maca. Not only does it give you a raging boner, but it is also said to cure bronchitis, asthma, and sluggishness. It’s called Extracto de Rana and it’s all the rage in Lima where the demand is high and the shops are bustling!

If you speak Spanish, you already know what’s coming…

Yes, it’s frog juice. No, the name isn’t some clever play on words… it’s juice made out of frogs. Seriously. Once you have a seat at one of the many booths selling this amphibious aphrodisiac, you’re asked to pick out the frog you want so, it’s kind of like a fancy restaurant and lobster… only disgusting.

After you mark one of these poor and defenseless froggies for death (again, just like a fancy restaurant, only sad) the kind-faced attendant beats the frogs head against the counter sending it to frog Valhalla. She strips the frog of its skin and then fills a blender with hot white bean broth, some honey, raw aloe vera and a generous portion of maca to make your dick hard. Finally, as the blender chops the components of the drink into drinkable form, the frog is added with a satisfying crunch.

Mmmm… sexy. Peruvians are apparently nuts about the stuff and many shopkeepers claim that extracto de rana has replaced morning and afternoon coffee for many people.

Oh, National Geographic—what will you think of next? As the rest of us were downing greasy brunch food this weekend, these guys—scientists, engineers, and two balloon pilots—woke up at dawn to set free a real-life version of the house from Pixar’s hit film Up on a private airfield outside L.A. Measuring 16 feet by 16 feet and 18 feet high, the yellow house was buoyed by 300 8′ weather balloons—a total height of more than 10 stories—setting a new world record for the “largest balloon cluster flight ever attempted.” It reached an altitude of 10,000 feet and flew for an hour. An experiment launched by National Geographic, this house was equipped with several large balloons to simulate the flying house in Up. This experiment was conducted outside of Los Angeles. Dead Drops Project

The brainchild of artist Aram Bartholl, Dead Drops is an anonymous, offline, peer to peer file-sharing network in public space. USB flash drives are ‘injected’ into walls, buildings and curbs accessible to anybody in public space. Everyone is invited to drop or find files on a dead drop; All they have to do is plug their laptop to a wall, house, or pole to share their favorite files and data. Each dead drop is installed empty except a readme.txt file explaining the project. A dead drop or dead letter box is a method of espionage tradecraft used to pass items between two individuals using a secret location and thus does not require them to meet directly. Using a dead drop permits a case officer and agent to exchange objects and information while maintaining operational security. Check out this amazing project. Enjoy.

Yoda the Four Eared Cat

They say cats have nine lives but this one has four ears. Yoda is a Chicago cat with four ears. Valerie and Ted Rock found him in a local pub being “passed round by curious drinkers,” hopefully not like that scene in Lynch’s The Elephant Man. Apparently the abnormality can cause hearing problems, but Yoda has checked out fine and lives a perfectly normal four-eared life. Yoda’s extra ‘flaps’ are separate to the base of his skull, with one placed slightly behind the other. ‘The vet had never seen anything like it before,’ explains Valerie. Well, isn’t that the most heart-warming story of the day. Take a look. Enjoy.

World’s Most Dangerous Bridge

The Hussaini Bridge in Pakistan is a harrowing experience, but commonplace to those who regularly use it. Known as the most dangerous bridge in use, it runs parallel to the original bridge which has already collapsed. One of the most scariest and dangerous bridges of the world is the Hussaini – Borit Lake Bridge in Hunza Pakistan. A bridge can prove to be dangerous for a variety of reasons; either because it’s very old, narrow, too high up above the land, over a quick river or if the wooden “floor” goes missing. What makes them dangerous is the fact that in spite of the condition of the bridge, they have to be used; as many a time, these pathways are the main or even the only way for the local inhabitants of a small village to reach a bigger city.

Nuclear fusion is the process by which two or more atomic nuclei join together, or “fuse”, to form a single heavier nucleus. This is usually accompanied by the release or absorption of large quantities of energy. Fusion is the process that powers active stars, the hydrogen bomb and some experimental devices examining fusion power for electrical generation. The fusion of two nuclei with lower masses than iron (which, along with nickel, has the largest binding energy per nucleon) generally releases energy, while the fusion of nuclei heavier than iron absorbs energy. The opposite is true for the reverse process, nuclear fission. This means that fusion generally occurs for lighter elements only, and likewise, that fission normally occurs only for heavier elements. There are extreme astrophysical events that can lead to short periods of fusion with heavier nuclei. This is the process that gives rise to nucleosynthesis, the creation of the heavy elements during events like supernovas. Cat with Wings

In China’s Sichuan province, something very strange happened to Feng’s cat during a hot spell. The little tom sprouted two bumps on his back and, within a short time, the kitty looked like it was ready for take off as the bumps became what looked like wings! While the wings contain bones, the cat has no control of them and certainly cannot use them to fly. Scientists say that the growths are due to a genetic condition than can be triggered by poor grooming or a skin condition. Other cats have also grown “wings” in the area. Check it out.

Next time you recline in a dentist chair dreading the Novocain-numbed sting of a drill, let your mind drift to India where dentistry is performed on the street by vendors. Maybe then you’ll be a little more grateful of how good you have it! (Some of these pictures are from China as well). In India, street services are plentiful, with dentists operating alongside other street services, such as apothecaries, repairmen, and barbers. These practitioners charge far less than licensed dentists, often charging as little as 125 rupees for a procedure such as a bridge—which, at a licensed dentist, could be as expensive as 10,000 rupees. Holes in A Living Cows

Hole-y Cow! These cows have been given a fistula, a hole directly into the stomach that scientists can reach into and study to see how certain foods get digested. Through this kind of work, better food can be concocted and studies into stomach cancer and other problems can be conducted. Although it looks inhumane, the cows don’t seem to mind. Animals can live a surprising amount of time with a permanent hole to their stomach, especially if it is a surgically made fistula. Nowadays, agricultural scientists learn about the digestive system of cattle by putting holes in cows – and the cows stay alive and well. These cows (fitted with a sealing cover called a “cannula”) each have a hole into their stomach. Through this hole one can extract food caught mid-stream through the digestive system. Interesting Lie – Inflatable Crowd

In need of a massive crowd of people, but don’t have thousands of adoring followers at your disposal? Why not go with Inflatable Crowd? Next time you watch a movie that contains a literal cast of thousands watching from the stands, remember… movies lie. Since 2002, our Inflatable Crowds have been seen (but not noticed) in over 80 feature films many TV shows commercials. Outsourcing the role of “background actors” to inanimate objects isn’t new, of course; producers have used cardboard cutouts in the past. But those two-dimensional performers severely limit usable camera angles. And adding a CG crowd can cost $50,000 per scene. Inflatables look real and are affordable, with a day rate starting at just $10 per head, roughly a tenth the typical rate for a human extra. Next time you’re watching a movie and there’s a scene set at a sporting event or political rally, look very closely at the cheering masses. Are they human? Or just gussied up balloon manimals?

The Most Insane Facebook Stories from 2011

Facebook has been a blessing and nuisance to many, but for certain people it has caused nothing but trouble. See the wildest, stupidest and craziest stories of 2011 from the huge social website.

In November, a burglar signed into Facebook from a computer inside a home he broke into before sprinting from the scene. Unfortunately, he forgot to logout before he left.

In February, a mom was arrested for posting pictures of her baby and a bong on Facebook.

Tigo Arrington brought attention to himself by posting an implied threat to police on Facebook. When police went to investigate the threat, they found child porn on his computer and he was arrested.

Nikki Rasmussen was arrested for lighting her friend’s house on fire because her friend defriended her on Facebook.
A police report says that when an officer asked Nikki Rasmussen about Jen Harris, Rasmussen said “… the two are no longer friends due to a dispute over Facebook. According to Nikki, Jen is angry with her because she ended their friendship on Facebook.”

For about a year and a half, 54-year-old Bettysue Higgins embezzled $166,000 from her job at a law firm. She used most of this money to pay for virtual coins on YoVille and Mafia Wars.
In December, she was arraigned in court and faces up to 6 years in prison.

In October, a study came out that found 1 in 5 women would choose Facebook over sex.
Cosmo asked 2,000 of their readers “what would you rather live without for one full week: sex or Facebook?”, and 20% responded that they’d take rather have Facebook than sex.

In October, Steve Frank, city commissioner of Covington, Kentucky, threatened to go “Taliban” on Occupy protesters.

In December, a cab driver got revenge on a passenger who didn’t pay and left his phone by updating his Facebook status.

In May, Lady Gaga used Farmville to premiere new music.

Benito Apolinar reportedly told his wife that “he had so many comments on his status” and was unhappy that she did not respond to the post.
“That’s amazing everyone ‘likes’ my status but you, you’re my wife. You should be the first one to ‘like’ my status,” he allegedly told his wife.
He then assaulted her.

This man broke into someone’s car and stole their cellphone.
According to police, “The suspect apparently took a picture of himself on the victim’s phone, and due to her settings, it automatically uploaded to her Facebook page.”

In August, a woman successfully hired a hitman on Facebook after posting a message that offered $1,000 to anyone who would kill her ex-boyfriend.

In July, two dozen Dallas City Hall workers received counseling after a probe showed they spent too much time on Facebook.

In July, a 19-year-old Watertown, New York man was arrested after posting a two-minute video on Facebook that showed him ramming his car into trash cans set out along a quiet street.

In June, Sarah Palin posted a note on Facebook saying WTF stood for “Winning The Future.”

In February, an Egyptian man named his daughter Facebook.

In June, France banned radio and television news anchors from saying the words “Facebook” and “Twitter” on air.

In May, a study came out that said young people would rather lose their sense of smell instead of their social networks.
A McCann survey of 6,000 people aged 16 to 30 found that 53 percent of respondents would rather forfeit the ability to smell than lose access to social networking websites.

In April, after the Royal Wedding, the Pippa Middleton’s Ass Appreciation Society was started. It now has over 240,000 fans.

The FBI charged a man with robbing five Detroit-area banks after investigators matched him to photos on Facebook. The robber was wearing the same clothes in his profile pictures as he was when he was robbing the banks.

University of Georgia sophomore Nitesh Bhakta used Facebook to help foil an armed robbery in progress at his family’s home. The 20-year-old was in his room on his laptop when he heard his grandmother scream.
“As soon as I opened my door, I saw three hooded guys like all masked in black at the front door,” Bhakta said. “I shut my door, locked it, grabbed my laptop, went into the attic and hid.”
“I don’t think [Facebook] is really meant as a lifesaving tool, but it’s the only way I could think of contacting someone immediately to call for help,” he said.
So, as the intruders rifled through the home, Bhakta updated his Facebook status: “HELP, ROBBERS, NO PHONE.” In all caps, naturally.
“A lot of people thought it was a joke,” he said.
Fortunately his best friend, John Salter, took him seriously, notifying Bartow County sheriff’s deputies as Bhatka hid in the dark.

Crystal Yamnitzky and her boyfriend Robert Driscoll stole a $12,000 ring. Shortly after, Yamnitzky posted pictures of it on Facebook with the caption, “Look what Robby gave me. I love him so much.”
They were both arrested shortly after.

24-year-old Ashley Payne, a public high school English teacher in Georgia, was fired for having pictures of herself drinking wine on a European vacation posted on her Facebook page.

Toddlers Worst Fear – Creepy Dolls

These Dolls Will Make You Feel the Fear. The only people who don’t find dolls creepy are the little girls who play with them and even they will cover the vacant porcelain expressions from staring at them before retiring to bed. Some people are afraid of clowns. I get that. These people don’t go to the circus and they don’t hire clowns for their child’s birthday party. Other people are afraid of birds, thanks to the 1963 Alfred Hitchcock movie. They avoid aviaries and don’t buy pets with feathers. And some people are afraid of creepy baby dolls. And how wouldn’t you? Take a look at them. Here’s a few really creepy dolls we would hate to share a room with.

Huge Fan of Famous People

Meet Harvii. Harvii’s hobby is kind of unique. This is Harvii, who has made it his sole purpose in life to get his picture taken with as many celebs as possible. This is his life goal, and so far he succeeded in hunting down about 1,000 celebs. These are some of his photographs. So far, he claims, he’s managed to hunt down about 1,000. Here’s 30 of our favourites (full disclosure: we didn’t look through them all.) His real name is Harvii and his nickname is “Rose Boy”. And he is living in south-west London, UK, according to reports. Kim Falardeau, who originally found Harvii, is a 20-year-old Canadian woman. She tracked him down via Facebook after hearing that his name was Harvii through a comment. I find it hilarious how he is actually 12 years old. Check out his photos with celebrities. Enjoy.

Meet Ernestine Shepherd a 74-year-old woman living in the United States was recognized as the oldest female bodybuilder by the Guinness Book of World Records. Ernestine Shepherd, 74, of Baltimore, United States has been crowned by the Guinness Book of World Records as the oldest competitive female bodybuilder ever. She told the Washington Post: ‘Age is nothing but a number’. Ms Shepherd has impeccably toned ‘six-pack’ abs that are the marvel of her Baltimore fitness center. Her husband of 54 years, Collin Shepherd, says he ‘has trouble keeping guys away from her’. The Shepherds live in Baltimore with their son, 53, and grandson, 14. You have heard to saw a women having six packs muscles but never heard or saw about a woman having six packs who is 74 years old. Pet Hippo Humphrey Kills His Owner

Hippopotamus Humphrey was “like a son” to South African farmer Marius Els. The man raised his pet from the age of 5 months. Marius used to “ride” his 1,200 kg hippo’s back in the past. And now Mr. Els is gone. It’s not that safe to have a relationship with the most dangerous animal in Africa. Marius was gouged by his 6-year-old pet to death. The animal repeatedly bit his owner in a fierce attack. The 41-year-old man’s mutilated body submerged in a river. He had been dead for an unknown period of time. His death was tragic. Here’s way you shouldn’t own the most dangerous animal in Africa as a pet. Take a look.

German Belt Buckle with a Secret

This is a very rare German belt buckle. It was invented by Louis Marquis while he was in a WWI POW camp. But it has also another function. Find out more about it inside the post.

It is actually a multi shot 22 caliber gun. It could be fired with a trigger or simply by flipping open the cover.

This is a very rare Nazi multi-shot 5.6mm (.22 cal) belt buckle gun invented y Louis Marquis while in a WWI POW Camp and received a patent for a similar design in 1935. When activated, the cover would open up, revealing the barrels loaded with cartridges. These immediately fired on some test model or could be individually fired by the triggers.

Incredible Stories of Some Super Babies

November 3rd, 2010 Paris

This was a lucky day for an eighteen month old baby. He fell out of a 7th story apartment window in Paris, bounced off a canopy over a café and into the arms of a doctor who was just walking by. The parents are being investigated after allegations that the couple went on a stroll leaving a three year old and the 18 month at home alone.

This miracle baby fell out of a 3rd floor window onto the pavement, and his mother had no clue until the police came up to inform her. The man is Hahmed Faal, he kept the baby warm with his jacket and watched over him until police arrived.

September 13th, 2010 Colorado

Another 18 month old baby was standing n her parents bed watching the children outside playing. When she leaned against the screen for a better look it gave way and she fell out and down 2 floors to the ground below. She was injured, but nothing life threatening. Her father was in the bathroom at the time the accident happened.

A tree helped break the fall of this 2year old girl when she plummeted out of a 9th floor window.

This miracle baby fell seven floors to the ground through metal poles, nuts and then onto the lift. Alisha is lucky to be alive. The two year old somehow managed to open the window and plunge out. The police have ruled it as an accident.

June, 2010 Chicago Il

Jeremiah a 18 year old boy fell out window onto the muddied grass just missing the concrete. It seems he climbed out the window while his family slept in on their day off.

November 1, 2010 Virginia

A one year old baby managed to navigate a flight of stairs into the apartment’s storage attic. Somehow not only did he make it up the stairs, but he fell out of the attic and onto the pavement below. He didn’t sustain any injuries and police are looking into the accident.

Big Python is Little Boy’s Best Friend

Can you imagine your young child curled up with a massive python snake? Check out these images of a 7-year-old kid who is doing just that with his parents approval. A Cambodian boy, Uorn Sambath, has made an unlikely friend with a 220-pound python snake. The snake, named Chamroeun, which means “progress” crawled into their lives as a baby snake seven years ago, when Uorn was only three months old. According to his parents, Uorn used to sleep together with the snake in his cradle, and learned to crawl with him. Their bizarre bond has turned the pair into a tourist attraction in their remote village.

Local authorities attempted to take the snake to a zoo, but once they saw the child curled up with the snake they relented. The python only eats chicken, about 22 pounds per week, which has become quite a financial strain to the family. Also, the snake could easily crush the little boy, but neither the parents nor Uorn are worried due to their sibling like relationship. Chamroeun is considered a “magical spirit” by the family, which brings them health and happiness.

Liu Fei Pushing Snakes into His Nose

Got a stuffy nose? This is the craziest way to solve your problem. Liu Fei pulls a poisonous snake through his nose and then out of his mouth – and survives to perform another day. Some people think he does this for medical reasons, like to prevent sinusitis, but acctually he is doing this for entertainment. Fei, from east China’s Jiangxi Province, has been performing the death-defying act for the past 30 years – what a charmer. Sometimes, when he feels like it, the 53-year-old will even use two 3ft snakes instead of one. It hasn’t all been smooth sailing for the snake swallower though – Fei has had several close calls with his wriggly friends, the most serious being when he swallowed one accidentally. Luckily for him, the serpent died in his stomach before it could cause any damage. He does live a charmed life it seems.

World’s Most Disgusting Food

We all love to see something weird, odd, and of course the bizarre sometimes. I think that everyone loves top ten lists, so here you have it lists of the wild, weird, and even sometimes the gross. Extremely Long Fingernails on Women

Regardless of how unwieldy they are, some women just love long fingernails. Apparently, the longer they are the more they are loved. A lot of the women have really nice long nails, others look a little gross…but i congratulate them all for have the dedication. People often think that it must be extremely hard to work or do anything with these nails. Just how idle do these women have to be to grow such long nails? Would you need servants and lots of money? But some people are able to do their daily tasks just fine with these long nails. These long nails are something to look at. Need a back scratch?

Unbelievable and Scary Transformation

A Cat Delivers Puppies

Yes, you read the headline! Believe it or not a cat has delivered 6 babies, 3 of them were kittens and the other 3 were puppies. Due to nature the kittens didn’t live for long while the puppies did. This is really strange and I’ve never heard of such a thing. I have no idea if this is fake or not, but one woman from Georgia reported that her cat delivered a kitten that looks like a puppy. Of course, this is naturally impossible. Maybe this little kitten has mutated? Judge for yourself. Check it out

Laughter Yoga

This is a new form of a therapy called “Laughter Yoga”. It combines different physical exercises like jumping and dancing to help people to improve their mobility and communication. Besides this, the unusual laughter therapy includes laughing and chanting helping to boost self-confidence. Such exercises were recently conducted for an orphanage center and Metro Manila city jail in Philippines. Indian police commandos also had a chance to exercise “Laughter Yoga”.
