Recreating Early 1900′s Paintings

We were shown different iconic painting from the early 1900′s and were told to recreate the look. Amazing how art can be reflected in our lives on a day to day basis. Life and our surroundings are art in themselves – God’s beautiful masterpiece! Art goes hand in hand with my work as a makeup artist because modes of expressions and feelings must be created in order for the viewers to appreciate them aesthetically. Just like any type of art, different mediums are used to create specific looks and effects, says this make-ip artist. Enjoy

Bizarre Ceramic Figures

While the tradition of decorative ceramic figurines is filled with beautiful and serene subject, UK ceramic artist Jessica Harrison takes a decidedly darker approach. Her recent ceramic work uses this tradition as a starting point, subverting it through the addition of morbid imagery such as skulls and blood. In the piece ‘Emily’, a reclining female is quite tranquil until you look closer at its face, which appears to have been completely removed leaving only the skull and a dangling eyeball. In the standing figure ‘Maria’, a beautiful white dress is covered in blood as the woman holds her own guts.

Painting on has passed trough evolution and it is not closed in the box. Being closed is not a normal thing for any kind of art. Art is an expression and it just finds its way to speaks to you. You just have to be a good listener. Using someones body as an art form speaks loudlier than anything else. These kind of performances are very brave and require more effort. Great work and great art by Craig Tracy.
