Molotov Cocktail as an Art Form

The walls of an abandoned WWII hospital in Yekaterinburg in Russia are now full of amazing portrait installations. They are a bit blurry but that’s because they have been burnt with the Molotov cocktails, also know as the petrol bomb; basically a glass bottle filled with gasoline and a burning cloth on top. These huge portraits are of fallen WWII soldiers, and they’re made from white bandages. A group of young artist has made them and put up on walls before they hit them with Molotov cocktails, and the effect it gets is amazing; they call the installation “Eternal Flame”. Truly a great and urban way to honor the fallen soldiers. Speaking of urban art, the street artist MTO has made some amazing graffiti portraits.

Amazing Rock Balancing

In what must be an incredible show of patience and preciseness, there are people in this weird world we all share that make a practice of balancing seemingly implacable rocks on top of each other. The result is surreal and quiet beautiful… if for nothing more than its apparent impossibility. Rock balancing is an art, discipline, or hobby depending upon the intent of the practitioner, in which rocks are balanced on top of one another in various positions. Rock balancing can be a performance art, a spectacle, or a devotion, depending upon the interpretation by its audience. Essentially, it involves placing some combination of rock or stone in arrangements which require patience and sensitivity to generate, and which appear to be physically impossible while actually being only highly improbable. The rock balancer may work for free or for pay, as an individual or in a group, and their intents and the audiences’ interpretations may vary given the situation or the venue.

Recreating Early 1900′s Paintings

We were shown different iconic painting from the early 1900′s and were told to recreate the look. Amazing how art can be reflected in our lives on a day to day basis. Life and our surroundings are art in themselves – God’s beautiful masterpiece! Art goes hand in hand with my work as a makeup artist because modes of expressions and feelings must be created in order for the viewers to appreciate them aesthetically. Just like any type of art, different mediums are used to create specific looks and effects, says this make-ip artist. Enjoy

Charcoal Drawings Collection

Charcoal is the dark gray residue consisting of impure carbon obtained by removing water and other volatile constituents from animal and vegetation substances. Charcoacunt is usually produced by slow pyrolysis, the heating of wood or other substances in the absence of oxygen. The resulting soft, brittle, lightweight, black, porous material resembles coal. Twisted Bloody Porcelain Figurines

Porcelain is used to make table, kitchen, sanitary, and decorative wares; objects of fine art; and tiles. Its high resistance to the passage of electricity makes porcelain an excellent insulator. Dental porcelain is used to make false teeth, caps, crowns and veneers.Porcelain figurines are beautiful to display and often strike intriguing conversations. Many people collect a variety of different porcelain pieces. Not sure who would collect something like this, maybe some twisted minds would enjoy this fine art, but personally for me I find it quite repulsive. Wouldn’t like to have one of these in my sitting room, or anywhere in my house!

Bizarre Ceramic Figures

While the tradition of decorative ceramic figurines is filled with beautiful and serene subject, UK ceramic artist Jessica Harrison takes a decidedly darker approach. Her recent ceramic work uses this tradition as a starting point, subverting it through the addition of morbid imagery such as skulls and blood. In the piece ‘Emily’, a reclining female is quite tranquil until you look closer at its face, which appears to have been completely removed leaving only the skull and a dangling eyeball. In the standing figure ‘Maria’, a beautiful white dress is covered in blood as the woman holds her own guts.

WTF Black and White Photos

These are some of the funnest photos on which I have run upon recently. It is crazy how things are not changing, people would do almost everything to catch your attention and get their five minutes of fame. Today some things have moved to some almost weird direction, and it is much harder to impress someone. it looks like you have to be freak of the week to manage to shock someone and make them talk about you. Just a perfect example is Lady Gaga. She doesn’t have any special talent and most of here music is just simple and nothing impressive, but she is making somewhat of “artistic performance”. If you ask me, than I would say that no way that is artistic in any way, but it is a nice way to get money…and I’ll say that Financial Times should make here Man of the year. But no longer will I waste your time with this talking. Just take a look at these photos and tell me if there is any difference between now and then.

Toilet “Art” – Creative?

I’m not quite sure what is with toilets, specially about the public ones, and some kind of “art” if I can call it like that. People just have a need to write something down on the walls of the toilet or even to draw something. Where do they find the inspiration there, I am not sure. Public toilets is in my opinion the less inspiring place in the world, but if it is up with these photos you will have the impression that is the best place in the world to be and create. In most of the cases I try to avoid public toilets, But as every day you get to learn something new, toilets are cool places to hang out? Or not? There are even some profound words written on the doors and walls of the toilets, and where does that comes from, I don’t even want to know. There are even people who write their names and phone numbers, how weird must that be? Some drawings are so good, it seems like someone spent a lot of time to make it look like that. If it is to judge by the look than the smell is not quite pleasant, so what made people to spend that amount of time there is still a mystery which should be solved. Some toilets are ruined and look very scary with the “artistic” writing and drawings, and some are improved and look more pleasant that they did before.

Paintings of a Blind Artist

The story of this blind artist is extraordinary and unbelievable. Professional CPA with a photographic memory, Lisa Fittipaldi lost her vision due to a vascular disease in 1993. She lost her job too, but overcame blindness and began painting in 1995. Her paintings are so colorful and bright; it’s hard to believe that they were drawn by a blind person who can’t even see colors or distance. The main challenge to Lisa was when she was told she could never create complex scenes of everyday life with people as main characters. But she managed to do so, and today her paintings are exhibited in museums and galleries around the world. Fittipaldi is a unique artist with an amazing inner vision. You can judge for yourself when you see this awesome paintings

Beautiful Mosaic

Mosaic is the art of creating images with an assemblage of small pieces of colored glass, stone, or other materials. It may be a technique of decorative art, an aspect of interior decoration, or of cultural and spiritual significance as in a cathedral. Small pieces, normally roughly cubic, of stone or glass of different colors, known as tesserae, (diminutive tessellae), are used to create a pattern or picture.

The earliest known examples of mosaics made of different materials were found at a temple building in Ubaid, Mesopotamia, and are dated to the second half of 3rd millennium BC. They consist of pieces of colored stones, shells and ivory. Excavations at Susa and Choqa Zanbil show evidence of the first glazed tiles, dating from around 1500 BC. However, mosaic patterns were not used until the times of Sassanid Empire and Roman influence.

Mosaics of the 4th century BC are found in the Macedonian palace-city of Aegae and they enriched the floors of Hellenistic villas, and Roman dwellings from Britain to Dura-Europos. Splendid mosaic floors are found in Roman villas across north Africa, in places such as Carthage, and can still be seen in the extensive collection in Bardo Museum in Tunis, Tunisia. In Rome, Nero and his architects used mosaics to cover the surfaces of walls and ceilings in the Domus Aurea, built AD 64.

The mosaics of the Villa Romana del Casale near Piazza Armerina in Sicily are the largest collection of late Roman mosaics in situ in the world, and are protected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The large villa rustica, which was probably owned by Emperor Maximian, was built largely in the early 4th century. The mosaics were covered and protected for 700 years by a landslide that occurred in the 12th century. The most important pieces are the Circus Scene, the 64 m long Great Hunting Scene, the Little Hunt, the Labours of Hercules and the famous Bikini Girls, showing women exercising in modern-looking bikinis. The peristyle, the imperial apartments and the thermae were also decorated with ornamental and mythological mosaics. Other important examples of Roman mosaic art in Sicily were unearthed on the Piazza Vittoria in Palermo where two houses were discovered. The most important scenes there depicted Orpheus, Alexander the Great’s Hunt and the Four Seasons.

Giant Little Girl Woken Up

On the morning of Sunday 7th May the little girl giant woke up at Horseguards Parade in London, took a shower from the time-traveling elephant and wandered off to play in the park…The fascination with dolls and specially with marionettes as well as the machine an mechanics was always present in the art. That fascination must be the product of men’s will to be free and will to get out for m the box and be the one who decides about the things in life. There is a need to see that you make a difference and that you have a power to decide. I love how this looks like, but as well it is something which brings up your biggest fear. It is interesting how this lovely doll can bring up such a mixed up feelings in us. This is surely the reason why the dolls have always been big obsessions for many artists.

Primal Promptings – Will To Be Alive

Photographer Tom Phillips has created a unique series of shots, which he called “The Dead Photos”. On these photos, we can see dead men on the background of completely different landscapes. And the more the life on photos seems mundane, the more tragic seems the upside-down body lying on the pavement, in the desert or in the pool. If this is just an artistic art of saying that we all are acting like we are not alive or even the point is that the dead people bring more life or just seeing or being close to death makes feel us more alive and makes us appreciating more the value of our existence. I am not sure what the artist wants to point out but surely it is pretty bizarre and odd, but it seems like there is something odd and strange in humans nature which is making us seeking to something dark and mysterious, even our need to believe in something supernatural can be explained by our primal needs. Here are the photos of primal promptings and our will to survive. There are many people who when they see someone’s dead body thinks to himself “glad this is not me”. How many of you saw a car accident and as much as you know that the sight to see is nothing beautiful, and that it might hunt you during the nights, you still weren’t able to turn away you head and look on the other side? This is something which will make you wonder, so just see these photos of this artist.

Window Dirt and Art

If your car is too dirty and you have enough creativity in your self, than you should try something like this. This is the proof that dirt is not always bad, you can easily transform that dirt in good material for something beautiful. Who would say that something like dirt can be artistic? This just says that art has no limits. Even the not such a beautiful things can be made looking great. Everything has its meaning in life and what once was ugly can be master piece. The beauty of art is that it has ability to make ordinary thing become something different. Nothing is as it seems and the way you start looking ordinary thing changes. We are here to make things look better and we should try to make every day of our lives different and to give a meaning to everything we do, even if our changes are not the greatest ones. Art is just our way of seeing things and expressing our feelings.

Remarkable Manipulation With Drawings From 16th Century

This amazing technique has been found in ancient China. Drawings in this gallery has been made by Istvan Orosz and it’s called Anamorphosis. This technique shows you the real image only when you have a special device or a specific vantage point to reconstitute it. Leonardo Da Vinci and other Renaissance artist were using this technique. It was brought in Italy in 16th century.

Puppets Getting Weird

Great Italian artist Beatrice Morbadi showed us an inner life of a doll, or as she said her eyes and soul what is seeing she is expressing in this form. This dolls look pretty if you ask me, I am not sure what is she feeling and how does she thinks, but if this is the things she is seeing than this is scary.
