Six flags is the name of the amusement park in New Orleans which has been abandoned after the Hurricane Katrina 2005 has stacked this area. The owners claim that the park must remain shouted down as long as outstanding claims with insurance companies remain unsettled. When an amusement park becomes abandoned and an eerie silence descends to blanket the decay, the atmosphere seems to twist and takes on a nightmarish vibe. Here are some photos of that place, and you will have to admit that it doesn’t make you feel marry and that coaster music is not cheering any more. The defunct park is too expensive to rebuild and too expensive to abandon, so it sits and waits for decay to claim it. The park opened as Jazzland in 2000, but Six Flags bought this amusement park in 2002. What is next to happen it remains for us to wait and see. Maybe a new investor will see the opportunity in this empty place.
